Hours:30hrs with up to 40hrs available

Luss Smokehouse opened in 2015 and has been rapidly expanding ever since. We’re based in the heart of the village of Luss and specialise in producing premium Beech Smoked Scottish Salmon & Trout.

We’re looking for a Smokehouse Operations Assistant to join our busy team and help with a number aspects of our business. The ideal applicant will have a practical, hands on attitude, as well loads of initiative and a strong sense of humour. This role is extremely varied and would suit a candidate who likes to do a bit of everything and gets stuck in!

Reporting at all times to the Operations Supervisor your responsibilities will include;

  • Preparing orders for dispatch to the highest standard for our trade, wholesale and online customers.
  • Delivery and collection of orders, ingredients and stock.
  • Preparing paperwork so that our orders are dispatched safely, correctly and on time.
  • Supporting the factory with packing of fish and production.
  • Supporting with our on-site retail unit, including occasional food prep, serving behind the counter and chatting to our customers



  • Ability to adapt quickly in line with the demands of a rapidly expanding small business.
  • Enhanced eye for detail and attention to paperwork.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Please note, you will be working in a food preparation environment and office. The temperature is often low - this role will not suit someone who is adverse to colder temperatures.


  • Experience/Qualification in Food Safety
  • Passion for food
  • Driving Licence
